Andrew Mills graduated from the British School of Osteopathy (BSO) in 1993 and after gaining post-graduate experience in New Zealand and West Sussex, set up a full time osteopathic practice in Billericay since 1996.
He is a part-time post-graduate teacher in cranial osteopathy at the University College of Osteopathy (formerly the BSO) and a faculty member of the Rollin E Becker Institute (REBI) teaching and lecturing in cranial osteopathy.
He has a special interest and extensive experience in cranial osteopathy and the treatment of infants and children.
Since qualifying from the British School of Osteopathy in 2004 John has worked as an osteopath in Stratford, Peterborough, and the Isle of Wight. He currently runs a clinic in the city of London and an associate in Billericay, and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council.
During his osteopathic training, he studied sports massage, which he also offers to patients in our Billericay practice. He has since trained in Pilates and Osteopathy in the cranial field in order to increase his skills base. Prior to training to become an osteopath he attained a bachelor's degree in management and design in engineering and later worked for the Ministry of Defence for the Defence Secondary Care Agency, which helped develop his interest in healthcare.
John would never have become an osteopath if it wasn't for his faith. It was during a time of soul searching in his life that John became a Christian. He became dissatisfied with the bureaucracy and politics of the civil service where he worked and the alternative: materialism and love of money in the private sector. John met a visiting preacher at his church that recommended him to his friend who was an osteopath. A series of events convinced him that this was the path he was to follow and John has never looked back since. Osteopathy has been a gift to John and to his patients giving meaning and purpose to his life through the service of others.
